Each year the Hale County Literacy Council partners with RSVP and Wayland Baptist University to participate in a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration. We pick a different one of the local elementary schools each year and host an assembly for the second or third grade students at that school. We provide a free book for each student, RSVP provides a volunteer reader and Wayland provides support helpers.
